A Guide to Taking Action
13:22 | Author: Warren Hammand
I know a lot of people, myself included, have a hard time putting their plans into action. I believe a fundamental problem is we may have the knowledge, but lack the tools. By assembling a community tool box, we can plan, act and see our dreams come to fruition.

Let's start with the big question, "How can I make a change?"

If you know where your change is going to lead to, then you are more likely to get there, that is why we think before we act. Consider the model below a power ring, it can help bring your thoughts to life.

Before you start changing things, it's important to find out what is important to the group and what resources are available. Identify what you can change and what tools you have to work with.

Planning creates the bridge between where things are now, and where we want them to be. With a clear vision, objectives and a strategy for change, You can develop this framework into a working model.

You have identified something you and the group care about, now it's time to make it happen. With the help of fellow Lanterns, you can mobilize the people around you and make your plan a reality.

Be sure to make sure your change is working and following your plan. It's important to check-up, seek feedback, and make adjustments if necessary.

Now that your important work has been started, make sure it lasts for the long haul. This requires time and more assessing and planning, but you can do it.
