This weeks general meeting was an interesting one that resulted in the need for further meetings the following day to wrap up the ideas mentioned and finalise plans for a build committee. As always not everyone could make it to the meeting in New OA so feel free to browse the full chat log if you want to get yourself caught up in full.
The event meeting started as most of the others and a lot of members had things to talk about before Cathy had even given up the floor. there was some sad news and some spoiler news, curse you Ai!
Of the other news the blog was mentioned and that was later finished in the second of the event meetings, resulting in it's promotion to official Lantern Core Blog. The topic of Green Lantern RP came up and if anyone is interested then please send a notecard or email to myself or Warren and we'll be happy to hear your ideas and get things started. An rp meeting was mentioned and as soon as the details are ironed out you guys will be the first to know, so watch this space!
The ION, Ceri, mentioned a need for another event meeting to discuss the upcoming event to help raise the last of the money for Relay For Life before it’s all over. Last nights event meeting also saw the collaborative efforts of the lantern builders to try and come up with a striking, and low lag, idea for the campsite event. Mogo and batteries were discussed along with flying rings and dedicated messages, the final outcome hasn’t been decided but one thing is clear, the group are dedicated. A special “sandbox” will soon be rezzed in the OA Sandbox for the builders to work in so be sure to stop by and check out the progress!
Warren revealed his own list of ideas and although some may ruffle some feathers, there were some good ideas in there to help fund the cores charity goals. This included controversial ideas such as donating time and/or money to the core on a regular basis such as attending several meetings a month or $5 dollars to build competitions. the winner of the competition would have their prized build put out on display and sold for a reasonable price of 100L$ before being removed and replaced by next months winner. Although raised in the meeting they weren’t fully decided upon and it’s likely they will emerge again in future meetings so if you like the sound of these ideas be sure to attend show your support.
Jeff also showed off some of the things he’s been working on in the dark fiery pit of his forge. Recent grief attacks on the sandbox have been annoying although thanks to the fast work of Tee they have not only been put down quick. The grief tools found by Tee have been adapted by Jeff and now there may be a new script coming out for the rings to kill the infamous sim crasher!
There was also a fancy section for razzmatazz where Jeff showed the ring being used to change outfits from lantern to casual man about town. A very cool feature that not only looks great but can also be an awesome rp tool for those hoping to get involved with the upcoming rp events. The previously mentioned script to allow ring colour changes depending on the central battery used to recharge them is still being worked on, but it’s nearing completion.
Last week the interviews were mentioned and a deadline of 1-2 weeks were given, this is end of week one so hopefully they should be happening very soon. The trainers said there had been some meeting issues that may have slowed the completion of the class schedule but Cathy said the meetings will be taking place within a month so things should be moving along soon!
That’s all the news over the past few days, if you would like to be involved in rp don’t hesitate to get in touch and if you want to help out with either of the RFL events be sure to notecard Ceri and she’ll get you sorted out!
